Started Djing way back around 1990 on some real basic belt drive turntables that i had diy'd a home made pitch from some old electronics volume knobs soldered in to the drives power supply until i had saved enough to purchase my 1210's. I got them second hand one at a time and they are the same Technics i use today. During my time playing i have been through most of the genres of electronic dance music, starting with Hardcore, Jungle onto Garage and then Trance and then Drum & Bass which is where i am at now ever since about 1995
I do lots of live shows from my Facebook pages and most recently, 'Bassment Sessions'. I still play all the genres but DnB is my main genre and what i play mostly.
I am a Vinyl Dj, i play mostly vinyl and i buy new records every month which i know helps to support the producers and to me, it gives me a sense of owning something, I found that with MP3 downloads, yes they are easy but you can play them a few times and they just get lost in the system and never really get noticed again
my Vinyl collection is at over 4000 now and climbing as above, it is quite a few genres but the largest section is the Dnb section by far.
I have played at a lot of clubs and bars in my time. I was the winner of 'Kiss Fm' London's Midnight mix competition back in 2010 and got to play in their studio in london. I was also a party DJ for a few years but gave that up in 2018. i have played on a few stations and now we have started our own.
'Bassment Sessions' was never really a station, it was a name for our event that we had booked before Covid came along. This event had to be cancelled and soon after we (myself, The Twisted Twins & Dj OMZ) decided to leave our current stations and build 'Bassment Sessions' as a station to gain us a wider audience and promote our brand to help with filling our events.
